Try before you buy, that's what Spotify's there for....
It depends what you want, really. Happiness in Magazines, and Love Travels At Illegal Speeds are probably his most slick / catchy / marketable albums. Bit punky though. Very few duff tunes on either of those. The Spinning Top is a good pick if you want something folky to suck a pipe to. A+E is a return to more familar territory but not one of my personal favourites.
The first three are a bit lo-fi, but if you like TEOTFW you'll find some gems in there. This sort of thing: www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5WZdBeHZyk
I'd suggest starting with The Kiss Of Morning and see how you get on, mainly because that's the one I got first.
i agree with every word - but - i thought you meant which Blur album would i reccommend ? so uhhh - t hought about it - "13" get's my vote - i just love it to death - has my personal favo blur song "Trailer Park" on it - and from track 11 on it's like an amazing 3 song medley of Pure Dripping Beauty....
The TEOTFW is quite lo-fi, so if you're looking for something similar i'd suggest the first 4 albums. "Crow Sit on Blood Tree" is a great record, some of my favourites include (but are not limited to), "All Has Gone", "Too Uptight" and "Bonfires"
